Kelly Gehle, MS, RD, LDN
I am a Registered Dietitian and hold a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University. Bastyr University is one of the worlds leading academic centers for advancing knowledge in the natural health sciences. It is also one of the few, true and accredited naturopathic universities. While earning my Masters Degree I was exposed to the naturopathic approach to health and disease. As a result I take a holistic approach to health, recognizing that the foundation for optimal health and healing begins with a health promoting, whole foods based diet.
I also hold a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Arizona State University and am a Gold Certified Advanced Fitness Specialist through the American Council on Exercise. This advanced Personal Training certification means that I have the experience and knowledge to provide safe and effective programming for clients who have cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, and musculoskeletal diseases and/or disorders.
I have worked in the health and wellness field for over 10 years, and have worked with hundreds of clients ranging from infants to the elderly, for preventive nutrition and fitness and for specific medical conditions.
Why I started this blog
As a dietitian I had clients always asking, “well, what do you eat”. Not an easy question to answer. “I eat a little bit of everything”, I would typically say, which didn’t seem to satisfy their curiosity. So, I decided to start this blog, sharing not only what I eat on a somewhat daily basis, but also sharing yummy recipes, and good nutrition and fitness information.
I’m excited to try the granola. Going shopping for ingredients this a.m.! Also, like the recipe for the purple hull beans. To be honest, I have not heard of them before. The mixture sounds healthy and delicious. As for heirloom tomatoes, I can walk next store because my neighbor is the NC Tomato Man! Yes, really!
See you soon,
